What KeywordWatchr does

A KeywordWatchr alert consists of a keyword, one source and a delivery channel. Each source is its own alert, with its own filters and its own exclusion words. Exclusion words filter out posts in which the keyword means something else. An alert can be narrowed to single subreddits or to named Facebook groups.

Every matching post appears in the KeywordWatchr dashboard with a direct link to the original post.

Sources KeywordWatchr monitors

KeywordWatchr monitors three sources:

  • Reddit: posts, optionally limited to single subreddits.
  • X: posts on X, formerly Twitter.
  • Facebook groups: posts in Facebook groups that the user names.

Google, Instagram and YouTube are planned as further sources. KeywordWatchr monitors public posts only. The posts are collected through third-party data providers.

How KeywordWatchr delivers mentions

KeywordWatchr delivers new mentions through four channels:

  • Dashboard: every mention in one list, with filters.
  • Email: a digest sent to a confirmed address, with links to the posts.
  • Slack: each mention posted into a chosen Slack channel.
  • Webhook: each mention sent as JSON to an endpoint the user provides.

Email, Slack and webhook deliveries run once a day, once a week or once a month, as set per alert. Discord, Microsoft Teams and Telegram are planned as further delivery channels.
